Elenin or C/2010 X 1 discovered by Russian astronomer Leonid Elenin on 10 December 2010 is a comet travels in a long elliptical orbit around our Sun. His latest discovery, only little is known about Comet but it caused a stir among astrophysicists, who work hard to try and nail down just his size (very small they think) mass and orbit.
Jet Propulsion Laboratory NASA has an interactive program, the Elenin of the orbit with the currently known information point variable positions. We know it is to enter this year solar our system (in fact already done so, fleeting Mars), make its perihelion around the Sun, gone to Earth, then back again be in the room.
Space distance being measured in astronomical units (AU) 1-au is the distance between the Earth and the Sun. Elenin is passed currently within the Earth after it in turn makes the Sun of 21.7 estimated au. But the exact location/path is unknown. There are many factors that could affect this with the slightest push/pull create unexpected results. Gravitational forces of planets in the inner solar system like this is during the Comet, which could potentially be incoming path aligned, caused, that the path (and the gap between themselves and the Earth) to expand or decrease. But even that is being discussed.
Academics at Cornell University, Mensur Omerbashich, has presented a paper outlining his theory that there is a concrete link between cosmic orientations and seismic activity on Earth, on the basis of his theory of the hyper resonance. He presented evidence that some earthquake on planet alignments or full moon happen. He Agues, which the Comet Elenin typical pointed out is that it was for us on the opposite side of the Sun during the Japanese earthquake and tsunami. Keith Hunter expressed similar views about the link between cosmic events and earthquakes at the recent Elenin video conference.
Astronomer Andy Lloyd at the Conference, also makes the observation that if Omerbashich wants to believe his theory, he must pick the track of a future incoming Comet, its course plot, up to an alignment with the Earth and the Sun then predict seismic unrest here on Earth, preferably before the time!
Omerbashich predicts that Elenin still strong seismic activity around the world through 2011 to August-October to step up.
Here last night in Auckland, New Zealand, we had a 2.9 earthquake, only a baby when compared to the last quake of Christchurch and aftershocks, but it is certainly the first, I have feeling in this region, which is not generally prone to that shakes an area and other parts of the country is Shudderings. Such things together with all the earthquake activity around the world now cultural remit of the spirit in in view all potential options and causes.
NASA David Morrison is of the opinion that we do not know the gravity of Elenin be. Don Yeomans of NASA in the near Earth object Program Office at JPL States that "you have a modest size icy dirt ball, which always is no closer than 35 million kilometers... it will have an immensely tiny impact on our planet."
Australian, Ian Musgrave paper on Elenin in it also sees in his dissection of Omerbashich in his Astroblog. He is of the opinion that Omerbashich has failed to factor in the main belt asteroids and 46 other comets, which reached perihelion in 2010 and asks why Elenin different behavior should everyone than these other objects in the room. He explains that "the most plausible astronomical source of earthquake is the Moon, which the strongest lithospheric tides." But he has also as a way at the end of his blog.
Something creates much upheaval around the world. Whether it is caused by cosmic events, is hard to nail down nature of the people caused effects or mother.
For all interested in a much broader more esoteric approach to the topic of Elenin Chairman Kerry Cassidy from project Camelot a roundtable video conference on 24 June of the Comet, the posts by Richard Hoagland, Andy Lloyd, Keith Hunter, Carl Johan Calleman, and Joseph Farrell all with slightly different takes on the meaning of Elenin (if any) included. This is a fascinating Conference and reminds me, that that only an approach based on the existing know half image in dark leaves, and is much less fun!
For some reason KOMET has captured people's imagination.
Yeomans summarizes it so beautiful.
"Comet can provide... not on a great show but there are to see reason..."This intrepid little travellers provide a way to study a relatively young Comet, who came here from the region beyond our solar system planetary astronomers. After a short time it will be raced back again and we will not see or hear from Elenin for thousands of years. "This is pretty cool."
